The Ripon Apprenticeship & Training Hub is setup to help the businesses of Ripon to thrive post pandemic by engaging 14-16 year olds into the work place to promote career development, soft skills and good work ethics.

The Ripon Volunteer Hub is set up to find all local volunteering projects and opportunities. From one-off activities to longer-term roles, Ripon Volunteering Hub allows the local community to unite and support local projects. Volunteering projects and opportunities in one place.

BID businesses are able to utilise these platforms. Businesses can tag the BID into posts or request dedicated posts as part of specific campaigns. The BID will also share press releases and new stories on behalf of BID businesses, both as online promotions on Visit Ripon and on social media.

Visit Ripon is our dedicated visitor information and destination marking platform for the city region. BID Businesses and Attractions are profiled via their own individual listing as well by business sector and geographical area. BID businesses are able to take advantage of free event listings, job offer listings and special offer listings.

Bringing visitors to the city region, and encouraging them to stay longer and spend more, e.g. floral displays, event sponsorship, city trails and festive season support. There are opportunities throughout the year for BID businesses to get involved with events to promote your business to a wider audience and to also encourage new customers into your business.

The BID has organised and funded the new festoon lighting schemes in the alleys and ginnels (Lavender Alley, the ginnel between Specsavers & Boots and the ginnel between M&Co and Costa together with the archway between the Black Swan and TJs)

The BID is working with Ripon City Council to fund new lights in the Market Place trees.  These will have a colour changing option to enable them to be seasonally themed.

The BID funds a rolling programme of high-pressure deep cleaning of pavements and regular clean-ups in the unadopted areas, the alleys and ginnels with fortnightly litter picks and sweep ups.

The BID operates a hanging basket scheme for BID businesses, works in partnership with Ripon in Bloom to deliver more barrier baskets and plants the wooden planters on Kirkgate.

Footfall and visitor profiling via TownandPlace.AI to help individual businesses and the city region as a whole plan for the future and monitor the city’s performance.

The BID offers impartial support to businesses on how they can be more efficient with their traditional operating costs.

The aim of the service is to identify, assist and realise direct benefits for the businesses through reviewing and making recommendations on key areas of their business expenditure.
