Ripon Museums unveil NEW Audio Exhibition. Fractured Soles: In the footsteps of Workhouse Families

We are excited to announce the launch of “Fractured Soles: In the footsteps of Workhouse Families” an immersive audio exhibition that brings to life the often-overlooked stories of Victorian workhouse families.
Award winning playwright and theatre artist Helena Fox, in collaboration with community co-creators, transforms true stories into powerful audio performances that deepen our understanding of the Victorian welfare system and draw parallels with modern-day societal challenges.
Visitors listen to the stories whilst interacting with different props that help bring the stories to life. It is a really powerful exhibition that brings the harsh realities to life. We find out what has brought these characters to the workhouse and what their future holds. It is truly immersive and powerful.
