Three world-class musicians with a wonderful programme: Debussy, Shostakovich and Tchaikovsky.

York cellist Tim Lowe brings two outstanding world class musicians to Ripon, violinist Jack Liebeck and pianist Katya Apekisheva.

Tim Lowe works as a soloist and chamber musician throughout Europe. He enjoys a busy and varied career, rapidly building a reputation as one of the new generation of young English cellists.

Jack Liebeck’s playing embraces the worlds of elegant chamber-chic Mozart through to the impassioned mastery required to frame Brett Dean’s The Lost Art of Letter Writing. His fascination with all things scientific has led to his most recent collaboration A Brief History of Time with Professor Brian Cox and Daniel Harding. This new violin concerto is written in commemoration of Stephen Hawking.

Katya Apekisheva was born in Moscow and she made her stage debut aged 12, and went on to be a Prizewinner of the Leeds International Piano Competition. She now enjoys a career performing with many of the world’s leading orchestras.
