Since ancient times people have brought together poetry and music to create songs. Tim Harrison explores some of the many ways in which composers throughout history have brought these artistic sisters together.

Tim Harrison was for many years the director of music for the Cathedral and Diocese of Middlesbrough. His choral music has been performed in the US and Germany and broadcast on BBC radio and television. His most recent work, The Great Charter, was commissioned by Durham Cathedral. He lives in Grewelthorpe.
