Ripon is set to get a little spookier this October half term as shops, cafés and businesses across the city unveil their Spooky Window Competition displays. Expect a colourful mix of pumpkins, cobwebs and eerie surprises, designed to delight families, visitors and residents.

From playful ghosts peeking out of windows to elaborate autumn scenes crafted by independent retailers, the city centre is becoming a trail of creativity. Residents and visitors are invited to wander the city, discover their favourite spooky window and cast their vote. Voting is quick and easy: scan the QR code on the posters and participating windows or enter here and help your favourite business to win free local advertising.

Light it up for Ripon After Dark – Window Wanderland

This half term, Ripon will also host its first Window Wanderland festival, celebrating local stories, wildlife and heritage through illuminated window displays. If you’re entering the Spooky Window Competition, there’s an easy way to join in: back light your window and you’ll be taking part in Window Wanderland too. Your display will then be part of Ripon’s after-dark trail, and people can enjoy it once the sun goes down.

Anyone can join in, including businesses, households and artists. Displays can use recycled materials and found objects. Ripon BID has registered with Window Wanderland to provide access to toolkits, maps and promotional resources.  Contact us for details info@riponbid.co.uk
