BID Backs Business Savings

Ripon BID is continuing its pledge to support and develop a progressive environment to help businesses within the Ripon city region to further succeed.

‘Our aim is to deliver on issues that are important to our member businesses and cost saving in the current economic climate was considered high priority’ stated Lilla Bathurst Ripon BID Manager.

In response to business needs, PSP were commissioned by Ripon BID to support local businesses through our Place Saving Programme focussing on business critical spend areas including energy, telecoms, merchant services and water.

Ripon Museum Trust undertook a review of their business expenditure and over several months PSP provided transparent guidance, advice and support to the trust assisting them in navigating the complicated energy market and securing the best available tariffs available in ever-unstable market.

Helen Thornton, Director of Ripon Museum Trust said “Ripon Museum Trust has just fixed its utility contracts in the most challenging of circumstances with the help of Rishi Sood from Place Support Partnership provided by the Ripon Business Improvement District. Rishi came to see us and gave us very level-headed and honest advice. All the usual norms of the market for buying gas and electricity have basically flown out of the window recently and none of us in the Trust are remotely qualified to understand the market – except we all knew it was going to be a pretty terrifying price

Rishi was always on the end of the phone through the process and able to answer our questions calmly, give examples from experiences in the cultural sector and steer us through this exceptionally difficult decision for our organisation. He helped us to break the decision down into manageable chunks and he empathised very well with the situation we faced – escalating prices and no way of knowing what the next 2-3 years held

Rishi has helped us fix our bills to the best of our ability and but in the current climate there was no ‘good deal’ out there really.”

Our fixed bills are going to be very challenging for our organisation, but we do at least have some planning certainty and Rishi helped us get ‘over the line’ in a complex environment. We can only now hope for a Govt Support package to help small businesses and charities like ourselves to get through this. Huge thanks to Rishi and his colleagues for helping us through!”

Ripon BID urges any Ripon city region businesses who are looking for help or advice with navigating the ever-changing business cost market to get in touch. Their cost saving expert will be available for further appointments on the 19th of September. Please email info@riponbid.co.uk for further details.
