π·πThe Inaugural Pig Cup to Bring Ripon Businesses Together for Charity Football Tournament
Riponβs businesses are being invited to take part in the first-ever Pig Cup, a new charity football tournament taking place on Sunday 12 July.
The event, hosted by The Portly Pig π and held at Ripon City FC β½ποΈ from 10am to 3pm, aims to bring together up to 16 business teams for a day of community spirit and fundraising.
All proceeds will support two local menβs mental health charities β Andyβs Man Club Ripon and Ripon Menβs Shed π§° β both of which provide vital spaces for connection and support. Organisers emphasise the importance of raising awareness, noting the significant impact of male suicide on families and communities π.
Teams can enter for Β£50, which includes a Β£1 player insurance. Squads will be six a side π, with up to two teams allowed per business. Players must be aged over 25. Staff and customers are equally welcome to take part.
Adding to the occasion, several English Football League trophies πβ¨, including the Carabao Cup, are set to be on display for photo opportunities. Food, drink and media involvement π€π are also planned, with hopes the Pig Cup will become an annual community fixture.
Businesses are encouraged to register and pay their entry fee by the end of March π .
Please feel free to get in touch with the organisers if you would like any further details β including how to register and pay β or with any helpful ideas and suggestions π¬. Charitable donations and donations for prizes are most welcome π!
