Rejoicing in Ripon: Ripon gets ready for its fifth feast of Theatre Festival entertainment
With the essential Arts Council funding secured 💼🎉, it’s all systems go for Ripon Theatre Festival, with the 2026 event reaching a key milestone.
The festival, which has gone from strength to strength under the curatorship of director Katie Scott 🌟, celebrates its fifth anniversary in July and promises a feast of entertainment for people of all ages 👨👩👧👦.
Running over eight action-packed days from July 5 to July 12 📅, the ever-growing event will feature shows and activities across the city at both indoor and outdoor locations—from Ripon’s garden racecourse 🏇 to city streets 🚶♀️🎪 and from schools to Market Square.
Back by public demand, there’s the ever-popular day of family-focused entertainment in the sylvan surrounds of Spa Gardens 🌳🎈.
Since its inception in the summer of 2022, the festival and its army of volunteers 💪💚 has been supported by Lilla Bathurst and her team at Ripon BID, and Katie Scott told Tim Flanagan of the Rejoicing in Ripon blog:
“We have been so thankful to have had Ripon BID at our side over the last five years. They have supported our projects and championed the value of culture in driving local growth.
“Together we have created strong local networks, proved our worth to the city and added to a growing sense of civic pride.” ❤️🏛️
