Rejoicing in Ripon – Ripon City Ghost Walk strikes gold for the Walled Garden
Some ghoulishly good fundraising has earned ghost walkers a gold award from Ripon Walled Garden 🌿.
The Ripon Community Link charity — whose garden, located on land that was formerly part of the Bishop’s Palace on Palace Road, works with adults and young people with learning disabilities — unveiled a gold leaf on Monday (February 16) in recognition of the funds raised by Ripon City Ghost Walk 🥇.
Spirited fundraisers Heather Law, Richard Pratt and Ken Dixon (pictured below) are three of the ghost walk team who have so far donated more than £1,200 to the charity, and further walks in April, May, July, August, October and December will add to that tally 💷.
The trio, suitably dressed in their spooky attire, were present to see the gold leaf awarded to the Ripon City Ghost Walk team, now in place among the names of other donors on the Walled Garden’s fundraiser tree 🌳.
The next ghost walk begins at 7pm on Thursday April 10 and those wishing to attend are asked to gather at the Cabman’s Shelter on Market Square for a terrifying 90‑minute tour of Ripon’s most haunted locations 👣.
The cost is £6 for adults and £4 for children. The minimum age for attendees is six.
