“I love being based in Ripon with my business – the sense of community in the city is fantastic. I strongly believe that if you want to live in a community then you have to be a part of that community, so I’m involved with various charities and groups in Ripon.”
Favourite Product?
Ellie admits it’s hard to choose just one.
“I have favourite school badges and favourite jumper colours – but they’re always from different schools, so my dream jumper is yet to be made! I do really like the Leavers Hooded Tops. The children are always so excited when they come to order those, and that’s really nice to see.”
Looking Ahead to 2025
Like many small business owners, Ellie knows challenges can’t be avoided – but she remains optimistic.
“You have to take the rough with the smooth and try not to sweat the small stuff. I’m so grateful for all our customers. We offer a great service and quality products that last, so hopefully people will continue to support us.”

“Honestly, I’d recommend all businesses in Ripon. You’d be surprised how much is available in the city. We have fantastic places to eat and drink, though I do have a soft spot for Valentino’s Ristorante – that’s where I went on my first date with my now-husband!”
What Would Help Your Business?
“If local people continue to support the shops and establishments in their area, it can only be a good thing. I’ve seen other places lose out when out-of-town shopping areas are built, so keeping business in the city centre is important.”
Best Part of the Job?
For Ellie, it’s about watching her customers grow up.
“We’re lucky to have customers who come to us from nursery right through to sixth form. Seeing them grow from toddlers to young adults is just great. I’ve even had customers who were children when they first came in now returning with their own children starting school – which is amazing, especially since in my head I’m still only 21!”
