Businesses invited to turn Ripon yellow in support of Yorkshire Air Ambulance

One of Yorkshire’s best‑loved charities is calling on Ripon businesses to help Turn Yorkshire Yellow this summer 🌼.

The Yellow Yorkshire campaign, taking place from July 6 to July 12, aims to highlight the essential work of Yorkshire Air Ambulance and encourage businesses, schools and community groups to get involved by creating yellow shop window displays, wearing yellow at work, or hosting yellow‑themed bake sales and fundraising events 🍰✨.

Yorkshire Air Ambulance operates three state‑of‑the‑art helicopters across the region 🚁, serving five million people across Yorkshire. As an independent charity, it relies on public donations to keep its helicopters flying and its crews delivering life‑saving care.

Funds raised during Yellow Yorkshire will help the charity continue providing critical care when it’s needed most by people involved in accidents or medical emergencies ❤️‍🩹.

Jane Horrod, community fundraiser at Yorkshire Air Ambulance, told Tim Flanagan of the Rejoicing in Ripon blog:
“The bright yellow livery of the air ambulances makes them instantly recognisable and we hope that businesses in the city can get involved in our campaign by decorating all or a part of their shop windows in yellow for a few days to show their support for the work that the crews do both day and night.”

Jane added:
“We know that Ripon is aiming to be known as the most Yorkshire of Yorkshire places and will have many flags bearing the county’s white rose emblem flying from August 1 and before then, we hope our Yellow Yorkshire fundraiser will provide a fitting prelude to the city’s celebrations.” 🌹💛
