The keys to The Castle remain in safe keeping as Ripon high street receives a further boost
Ripon BID has extended a warm welcome to Robert and Zoe Nemes, new owners of The Castle on North Street 🏰💛.
Under previous owners Graham and Sasha Wilkes, the sumptuous furniture and home furnishings store earned a loyal following over more than 30 years — a go‑to destination for customers seeking that extra‑special item to lift a lounge or add character to any room in the home 🛋️✨.
The next chapter for the business began yesterday (Tuesday March 31) when Robert and Zoe, accompanied by Cavapoo puppy Margot 🐾, opened the doors on their new venture.
Robert, who has more than 20 years of retail experience, told Tim Flanagan of the Rejoicing in Ripon blog:
“Zoe and I know that The Castle is a store that has a place in the hearts of many people living in Ripon and the surrounding areas and our aim is to maintain the same level of quality of products and service that Graham and Sasha provided.”
He added:
“The premises are huge and the two upper floors offer a great deal of potential for showcasing room sets of furniture, along with ornaments, mirrors and clocks.
In addition to this, we will be letting customers who are not familiar with the store know that we have parking to the rear, which is particularly useful for people wanting to buy and take away some of the larger items that we sell.” 🚗🪞🕰️
Ripon BID manager Lilla Bathurst said:
“We are delighted to welcome Robert and Zoe, not only to our beautiful city, but also the Ripon BID community that we serve.
The Castle has long been a favourite spot for stylish furniture and homeware and we are excited to see it continue and thrive under its new owners.”
Lilla added:
“Ripon is built on brilliant independent businesses, creativity and community spirit, and we are so pleased to see The Castle in Robert and Zoe’s safe keeping as part of that story.” 🌟🏘️
