Ripon to Sparkle with a Brand-New Magical Artisan Christmas Market
This November, Ripon’s historic Market Square will be transformed into a festive wonderland as the city welcomes its first-ever Magical Artisan Christmas Market — a joyful three-day celebration of local creativity, community spirit, and seasonal cheer.
Running from Friday 21st to Sunday 23rd November, the market promises a truly enchanting experience. Visitors can browse a hand-picked selection of artisan stalls, each housed in traditional wooden huts and brimming with handcrafted gifts, festive treats, and one-of-a-kind creations from talented local makers, bakers, artists, and craftspeople.
But this market is more than just shopping — it’s a celebration! Expect cheeky elves, a magical Father Christmas, and the dazzling Calvos street entertainers to bring the square to life with music, laughter, and sparkle. Santa will be in his grotto (in the Cabmen’s Shelter) on Saturday from 2-4pm and Sunday from 12-2pm. Families will love the festive atmosphere, and foodies can indulge in seasonal bites and warming winter drinks.
Organised by Ripon BID Ltd, Visit Ripon, and Little Bird Artisan Markets, the event is designed to boost footfall, support independent businesses, and showcase the incredible talent that makes Ripon so special.
“We want to create an unmissable event that brings people together and celebrates what makes Ripon unique,” says Lilla Bathurst, Manager of Ripon BID. “It’s about our independent businesses, our community spirit, and our beautiful city centre.”
Little Bird Artisan Markets, known for their vibrant events across the region, will bring their signature charm and atmosphere to Ripon — ensuring a weekend full of festive magic.
