Work Experience at Wolseley HQ in Ripon
Ripon BID helped arrange a work experience post for 14 year old Cundall Manor student Barnaby Pope in July 2022. Barnaby’s review of his time at Wolseley is below:
“I thoroughly enjoyed my work experience and will always remember it as fun and educational. Thanks to the wonderful help from Ripon BID I managed to get a place at Wolseley for one week. I wasn’t sure what I would be doing, but I knew I was in safe hands and would have a great time. I quickly learnt that I would be working my way around the finance department. Over the course of the week I did everything from Asset Management to Debt Recovery. It was interesting to learn the ins and outs of the finance world and what skills I would need in the future. My favourite day was the training course on leadership and prejudice, it helped to develop my skills and showed me how unconscious biases can affect decisions all the time. Overall I had a great week and would encourage any other students to use Ripon BID to help them get a great placement.” Barnaby Pope
