We recently stopped by Queen Street to visit the lovely Tracey Lidster and her beautiful footwear and fashion store @solematesfootwearripon.
Solemates offers a fantastic range of women's and men's footwear all expertly fitted by a friendly and helpful team. You will also find a fantastic selection of men's and women's fashion too alongside amazing brands such as Birkenstock & Vans.
We chatted with Tracey about why she likes doing in business in Ripon and this is what she had to say :
1. Why is your favourite thing about doing business in Ripon?
The independent business scene and the way everyone supports each other is fantastic.
2. What is your favourite item in your store?
It has to be one of our 100% leather handbags. They come in a range of classic colours and are a great, versatile piece. For only £69.99 we have to agree, they are simply beautiful and we couldn't decide between the oxblood, black or tan!
3. What would be your tip or recommendation of where to visit in Ripon?
Wakeman's House Cafe on the Market Square Ripon. Janet over there is lovely and the food is fantastic too. We do agree with Tracey, their Sit, Sip & Share evenings certainly do look superb.
People make Places! It’s people at the heart of Ripon who really make our wonderful city come alive.

As if the amazing @ripon_theatre_fest wasn't reason enough to visit Ripon this weekend, we also have the fantastic @littlebirdmade artisan market in our marvellous medieval market square today. Little Bird are committed to helping provide local communities with the best artisan market stalls whilst also giving traders a fantastic showcase to present and sell their handmade goods. The market will be running between 10am - 3pm so come along and soak up the festival atmosphere (and fingers crossed some sunshine too!). Sounds like a pretty super Sunday to us!
